Seafloor Systems is a California-based company specializing in turnkey hydrographic survey solutions for both manned vessels and its own Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). With over 20 years of multibeam sonar experience, the company delivers reliable, well-supported systems tailored to specific performance needs and budgets.

The company was founded by John Tamplin, whose background as a US Navy Sonar Technician included hydrographic surveys for EOD and mine clearance operations. His expertise in sidescan sonar and subsea detection laid the foundation for Seafloor Systems’ focus on proven, high-performance technology.

Seafloor Systems has spent a decade developing its fleet of Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) for advanced hydrographic surveys. The HyDrone™, TriDrone™, EchoBoat™, and HydroCat™ platforms support complex payloads and offer both remote and autonomous operation using our AutoNav™ system, with a focus on reliability, ease of use, and low maintenance.
