Windows Mobile Device Center Unstable After Update
July 5, 2017

Windows Mobile Device Center becomes unstable after the recent Windows 10 Creator Update Build: 1703.  The update stops WMDC from working and does not allow the connection of any Windows CE or Windows Mobile devices with the PC.

A PC application tool that will add the appropriate Registry settings to resolve this issue is available here.  The tool must be run with Administrator privileges.

Download the tool to your PC, right-click the file, and choose Run as Administrator.  If a pop-up asks for confirmation to run, choose Yes.  A command window opens and displays the Registry values changed.  Close the command window.

Windows Mobile Device Center should now perform as expected.  For additional tips on connecting your device to the PC, see the Trimble Support Note.

If you continue to have trouble with the connection, get in touch with us at mapping_support@frontierprecision.com or 866-560-6200.
