What’s New in RTK?
September 26, 2014

So, you have driven out to a remote location to locate or update GPS features, only to find that the cell coverage is sketchy.  Enter, the NEW Intuicom RTK Bridge X. This device is a great tool to always have with you to get you through your GPS collection day. This device performs a multitude of functions including extending the cellular range or coverage area.

Simply plug the device into the cigarette lighter plug on your vehicle and it will connect to the cell signal with its high gain cell antenna. The RTK Bridge X will now connect to your RTK, VRS, Single Base etc…. real-time source. The unit will then send those corrections to your rover receiver, (such as the Pacific Crest XDL Rover2) over UHF, up to 3 miles away.  More info coming soon on the new XDL Rover 2.

The new RTK BridgeX has a great user interface and is very easy to configure and use. This unit can be configured out in the field very easily with any smartphone.  Simply connect to the Bridge X via WIFI, and you have full access to the on-board configuration. There is nothing to install, just simply log in the bridge and enter your real-time source information and you are set.

Let’s say that you have sent this unit out with someone and they need to add a different real-time source or make other changes. Since this unit automatically connects to the internet, simply by plugging it in to the vehicle, it is also available over the internet. You will be able to enter the IP address into your browser at your office and connect to this unit out in the field. You could then add the new RTK source for your employee and they would ready to go.

This unit also acts as a WIFI hot spot, and will work for transferring files to and from the field.

You might think that a unit with so many features and functions might be difficult manage without lugging around data sheets or manuals. As you will see in the video below, the RTK Bridge X has on-board help for each and every function.

I have created a short video to let you take a peek at the user interface , and how to make configurations.
