The AIMS course equips responders with the critical skills, knowledge, and tools required to plan, manage, and execute aquatic search and recovery operations. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on equipment training, and real-world scenario execution, participants will gain expertise in managing complex water-based incidents with a focus on safety, technology, and teamwork.

Shane Seagroves

Shane boasts a distinguished career dedicated to public safety. Beginning in 1986, he joined Northview Fire and Rescue as a Junior Firefighter. His unwavering commitment continues today, where he serves as both Assistant Chief and President of the Board of Directors.

Prior to his 2022 retirement, Shane served the citizens of Lee County for over 30 years in a professional capacity. This experience translates to a deep understanding of the community’s needs and a proven track record of success.

Recognized as a leader within the emergency services field, Shane is known for his dependability, unconventional thinking, and decisive leadership. Throughout his career, he has consistently advocated for the well-being of citizens, ensuring common sense and safety remain central to every situation.

Shane’s expertise is further validated by his impressive credentials. He holds the designation of NC Executive Emergency Manager and is a graduate of the US Naval Postgraduate School’s Radiological Emergency Preparedness Executive Education Program. Additionally, he is a credentialed member of the NC All Hazards Incident Management Team and has extensive experience through deployments and instruction. Highlighting his dedication that extends beyond his local community, Shane actively travels across the state to lend his expertise in critical areas like Search Management and Water Rescue & Recovery.
