R10The Trimble R10 GNSS receiver allows users to measure Compensated Points in the field. This method utilizes the internal sensors in the R10 to calculate the amount of pole tilt, and the direction of the pole tilt. This allows users to measure points up to 15° out of level, and still get accurate positions on the point of interest. The method works great for points that were previously inaccessible with GNSS, such as building corners, or control points under fences, etc. This video demonstrates the method for measuring a compensated point, as well as how to check the accuracy of the calculation. It should also be known that the accuracy of this measurement method depends heavily on the quality of the tilt sensor calibration.
