All Trimble GeoXT and GeoXH configurations of the GeoExplorer 6000 series have been recently discontinued. Spare parts and accessories, however, will continue to be available for sale while the GeoExplorer 6000 series is serviceable. While the 6000 series was revolutionary with the advent of Trimble’s Floodlight Technology, handheld Camera Integration, and superb screen technology, Trimble moves forward yet again with a superior successor, the Geo7x series.  The good news is that Trimble has broadened the Geo7x ) which comes in many flavors that covers the range of accuracy and capability of the 6000 series and more. Here are several advantages of the Geo7x over the Geo 6000 series:

  • One hardware device with the base model starting at sub-meter, upgradeable to decimeter and even centimeter
  • Modular rangefinder that attaches to the handheld for seamless integration of laser offset and heights
  • Orientation Sensors
  • Most Models Include Full GNSS w/ Floodlight Technology as opposed to just GPS+GLONASS
  • Significantly Faster processor (1GHz )
  • Standard 3.5G broadband cellular support, including Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile
  • All models include NMEA Output
  • Double the Internal Storage Space (4GB)
